Update 2020

Been a while huh?

RKI has been forced to go on hiatus for an extended period, as you can tell! (It HAS been several years at this point!) I appreciate the continued interest in the Youtube channel and the people checking this page for updates on the regular. Alas, there will not be another video for the time being due to personal issues resulting in an inability to produce them. (Words like "Eviction" and "Homelessness" would be most apt an explanation!) My stuff is all in storage waiting for the day I can unpack it all and get back to producing videos.

But in the meanwhile I have been considering ways to continue producing some form of content, be they blog posts or social media posts. The dark Timeline we live in has gotten all the worse, but in a way that may lead us ultimately to a brighter future. And as such, I am trying to figure out just how RKI can continue forward in this way.

One change I will tell you is that, as a result of Youtube's policies, the RKI channel will be going ad free from now on. I will not see a dime from any of it. I don't really care that this is likely to tank people's ability to find the channel due to the algorithm nonsense, but I can't keep participating in their games and relying on them to be good sports when they have shown a blatant willingness to ignore everyone and change the rules on a whim. So if you wish to support the channel, feel free to use the Patreon link. Otherwise, put up your ad blocker and just enjoy the stuff RKI produced! (And will someday produce in the future!)

RKI is not dead yet but we got a long road ahead of us. (An apt thing for the times!) Stay safe out there everybody and stay tuned!

OMG RKI Updates!

Well! Been a while, hasn't it? No worries, RKI is not dead! However, life issues arose and forced attention elsewhere for a while. But, RKI is on its way back!

The Studio is almost set back up. And so, filming can resume soon. Editing, scripting and such will also resume along with it. (Episode 3 of FFVII, RKI Radio Theatre in Editing. Flick Flap, FFVII, Writing in Geek, State of the Union with ATM in Scripting.)

The good news is that there's several more Just Play! episodes in the pipeline. Which will not take very long at all! I want to focus on new release games for the most part (TWO big new releases this month will be highlighted and Reviewed... If you can guess which two those will be.) but I'm trying to figure out ways to incorporate older games too, since there's very little income to, ya know, PAY for new games. I'm just not sure how receptive you folks out there would be to games months, years or even decades old. Though to vary it up a bit, I'm considering adding an "endless" Just Play! series in there like Minecraft. But we'll see on that. There may also be a few "Challenge Run" episodes too for games I've played before, since fresh plays are more of the point of the series. (Can ya tell I've been thinking about the Just Play! series the most?)

Obviously, given the delays in Game Knight FFVII, the following series and episode of Collecting Game look to be a ways off. (For a small tease, we're going back to 1990 for that one...)

State of the Union with ATM is proving difficult in the scripting phase as there's PLENTY of topics to cover (With more arising every day...) but forming them into the format of the show is proving difficult. (How do you solve issues by passing a law or whatnot? Or conversely, remove a law. How do you place it within an "educational" factual context? Etc. Etc. ) I have two other series with ATM in mind as well, but those are kinda on the back burner for the moment.

There is a brand new series in planning too, but as I'm still trying to figure out the style, that one could take a bit, but I'm looking forward to digging into it.

With all this other stuff in the works, don't expect a new Rantin' & Raven any time soon. But hey, if you guys want my opinion on some random subject, feel free to recommend it over on YouTube, in the comments here, on Twitter, facebook, or even the official RKI email address! It may just inspire me to write up a long ass ramble for ya. (Exciting, I know!)

But, I just thought you guys would like to have a update and be assured more content is coming!

Game Knight Continues with Final Fantasy VII, Episode 2!

PHEW! Been a couple months since the last one! Been working on a few things in the meanwhile, so, update time!

I've got some more Writing in Geek and Flick Flap episodes in the writing stage.

There are four more Game Knight: FFVII episodes to come before I have to film more (as well as finish scripting the rest of that series.).

State of the Union with ATM and Rantin' & Raven are awaiting ideas.

RKI Radio Theatre will be up next with the next set of four episodes. (Because it's been a while, and they're quick edits.)

And finally, RKI's Twitch... I did some testing with it and it seems my computer is just plain not strong enough to render ANY games in real time. Both the Computer games, AND console games turned out choppy as hell. Which sucks, because I had hoped to use it to boost the Game Knight output! (And get a few more eyes on the Youtube channel.) So, maybe in the future when I can get a new computer, but don't expect that for a while as I'm not even surviving on the Channel's Monetization. (So, please do Share, Like, Subscribe and so forth so I can get this puppy to grow!)
